My name is Thomas Eklund. I was born in Estonia, where I was in business for myself from age 16. At the age of 25, I started with one business partner a sweets production company. The company employed up to 34 people, worked 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and sold products in 4 countries. I was responsible for the operations, marketing, sales and sales management.
In 1989 I emigrated to the US; I am US citizen and am currently living in Massachusetts.
Here in the US I graduated from Rhode Island College (Providence, RI) in 1996 magna cum laude. I had one major, economics, and 3 minors: business management, psychology and philosophy.
Over the last decade I have worked in international business and sales, research, and have done website and database development. I have over 8 years of experience with developing database applications for business operations and research purposes. I have handled different computer application development-related tasks from project management and business analysis to application architecture, navigation structure, usability engineering and user interface design, to programming, table structure and other objects development, quality control and user training.
Familiarity with different business development areas, in combination with my service oriented disposition, analytical skills and educational background, helps me to understand computer application users needs and wants, so that I can contribute to translating these needs and wants into computer applications.
For several years I developed database applications as an independent contractor. My main customer was Fleet Bank (prior to being acquired by Bank of America). Thereafter I worked for 3 years first as IT Project Specialist and then as IT Project Manager for InfoTrends, Inc. (www.infotrends.com), a leading worldwide market research and strategic consulting firm for the digital imaging and document solutions industries.
After leaving InfoTrends in 2007, I focused on development of Project Developer, Inc. company concept and the prototype of its first product, SalesGetter™ CRM sales application. I have also been working as an independent contractor again. Recently, bulk of my available time has went into building a groundwork for a company that will offer web-based creativity management and development solutions for personal, professional and software development purposes. Emphasis is on practicality and usability of the solutions provided.
As a person, I am reliable, responsible, resourceful, honest, detail oriented and hard working. These are qualities that are important to me and I am proud of. These are also qualities that I value in company management.
In summary, I am a strategic thinker whose background combines hands-on computer application development expertise with sales, business management and entrepreneurship experience.
